For professionals

We work with organisations, services and community groups who want to improve what they do for people with learning disabilities.

As a small, userled charity we bring real life experience and expert knowledge to everything we do.
All our work is co-produced – that means a member of staff works alongside an Expert By Lived Experience,
someone with a learning disability who brings their knowledge, voice and insight to our work.

Here is how we can help:

Easy Read translation

We make information easier to understand by translating it into Easy Read – simple words and clear pictures. We can:

  • Create Easy Read documents with you, co-produced with an Expert By Lived Experience.
  • Check Easy Read documents you have already made and give advice on how accessible they are.
What we do:
  • Discuss what is needed and give you a quote and timescale.
  • Translate or review your documents.
  • Send your document back for feedback.

Research

We work with researchers who want to involve people with learning disabilities in their projects.

We help by:

  • Reviewing and improving research materials for accessibility.
  • Delivering training to help researchers include people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Co-producing resources to support inclusive research

Consultations

We design and run accessible consultations where people with learning disabilities can share their views in meaningful ways.

This means:

  • People are not left out of decisions that affect them.
  • You get better, more inclusive feedback.

Co-production

We believe the best services are made with people, not for them.

We work with organisations to co-produce services that work better for people with learning disabilities.

For example:

  • We work with Norfolk and Waveney ICB to improve local health services by involving people with learning disabilities every step of the way.

  • We worked with Healthwatch to find out what adults with learning disabiltiies say about safeguarding.
