Advocacy means speaking up for yourself and others.
We believe everyone has the right to be heard, to make choices, and to live the life they want.
That is why all our advocacy work is led by people with learning disabilities.

Self-Advocacy Groups

Our self-advocacy groups are run by and for adults with learning disabilities. They are free to join and offer a safe, friendly space to:

  • Talk about your life and what matters to you
  • Say what is getting in the way
  • Get support and ideas from others

In our groups you can:

  • Learn new things
  • Make new friends
  • Build your confidence

We run groups every two weeks all year round in:
 Cromer, Diss, Norwich and Great Yarmouth.

LGBT+ Advocacy Group (Online)

This is a group for adults with learning disabilities who are:

  • LGBT+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bi, Trans and other identities), or
  • Questioning (not sure how they feel about their gender or sexuality)

It is a friendly and safe online space where you can:

  • Talk about your thoughts and feelings
  • Learn from others
  • Get support from people like you
  • Have fun together

1:1 Advocacy Support

Sometimes you need individual support to deal with tricky issues. If you are an adult with a learning disability living in Norfolk, you can work 1:1 with one of our Advocacy Advisers.

We can help you:

  • Understand your rights and choices
  • Make decisions that are right for you
  • Speak up and be heard

We support with issues like:

  • Benefits and money
  • Mental health and wellbeing
  • Social care and health services
  • Loneliness or isolation
  • Housing
  • Planning your future
