Projects

Our Lottery Project

We are thrilled to have 4 YEARS funding from The National Lottery Community Fund for our training project.

We have a Steering Group who oversee the project and who also work hard to plan a big Healthy, Happy, Safe Day.
This is where hundreds of people with learning disabilities join together to learn new things, meet people, celebrate and have fun.
Healthy, Happy, Safe Day 2026 is on Wednesday 17 June in Norwich. We hope to see you there!

We are also doing a BIG SURVEY to find out what life is like for people with a learning disability in Norfolk and use this to make life better for them.

Have Your Say
You can complete the survey online, or if you would prefer a paper copy, please contact our office and we will send you one along with a freepost return envelope.

Before you begin, please take a look at the Information Sheet and Ways To Get Support guide.

The survey closes on Friday 24 July 2026, so please make sure you submit your response before then.

Your feedback is important to us, and we would love to hear from you.

We have a Training Planning Group who meet to check how many people with and without learning disabilities we have trained each month.

Get Volunteering

Thanks to a grant from the Get InVOLved Skills Innovation fund we ran a project last year looking at making volunteering easier for people with learning disabilities.

As part of our project we said we would make some free easy read templates. You can download and use them from here:

Volunteer Agreement
Volunteer Form
Volunteer Expenses

These can help organisations make information accessible for volunteers with learning disabilities.

You can listen to one of our members talking about the project here.

Housing project

Hopestead logo

With support from Hopestead we are helping people with learning disabiltiies to understand housing better and stay safe in their homes.
We are providing:

  • 1:1 help with housing problems with a trained Advocacy Adviser
  • Friendly, easy-to-understand training sessions about how to manage a tenancy
  • Helpful easy read information

Energy Champions

This project will help you understand bills, meters, how you use energy and how to save money on your bills.

We are looking for people with learning disabilties to become our Energy Champions and learn new things.
To be an Energy Champion you must be able to

  • Meet up with the project supporter for about 2 hours each month
  • Design and lead energy workshops to be delivered to people with learning disabilties
  • Offer peer support

Get online, be safe online

Thanks to CityFibre we have an exciting project called Get online, be safe online to teach people with learning disabilities to be safe online.

So far we used a survey to find out what tech people use and what people can doonline. We found out what help they need to use it.
Read our report about what we found out from the survey.
